Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT)

HIV and AIDS are two of the biggest health problems facing the community of Ndhiwa and the surrounding areas. The District of Ndhiwa has a very high rate of infection. KAP is one of the main providers of VCT services which was introduced in May 2006. Testing enables individuals to know whether or not they have the infection and helps them to make informed choices regarding their sexual behaviour and relationships. Once they have been tested they are then able to access other services offered by KAP including treatment, nutritional advice, home based care, acute and terminal care and access to the post test support groups/clubs for adults and youths.
